USDF Region 2

Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia, Wisconsin

Welcome to the USDF Region 2 website!

Website updates continue to be made based on input by you the members of Region 2.  Please continue to provide your ideas.  We continue to look for photos of members and/or their horses.  Please send them to Barb Levy and we will work on getting them on the website.

In need of a new trailer?  Classical Attraction Dressage Society (out of Ohio) is doing a fundraiser for The Dressage Foundation.  They will be raffling off a brand new trailer.  If you would like more information about this raffle go to http://www.caadsdressage.org/2016-trailer-raffle.html

Hello fellow Region 2 members. I like you am totally ready for Spring. This time of year we go from frozen ground to mud. I'm not sure which I prefer other then mud takes longer to remove. I guess this weather is what makes us appreciate Summer and Fall.

The USDF Annual Meeting in Las Vegas was another great event. As always, we held 2 Regional Meetings where we had 39 members in attendance. There were a lot of good ideas discussed including the development of a USDF Region 2 saddle pad for all Region 2 competitors who qualify for the National Finals (within our region) and compete at the National Finals. To make this happen we need one or more individuals to financially suppot this effort. If you or anyone you know is interested in helping to make this idea a reality, please have them contact me.

If you have not attended in the past, 2016 may be an ideal location for many of our Region 2 members. The USDF Annual Meeting and Convention will be in St. Louis, MO November 30 to December 3, 2016.

During the month of April, I will be attending the USDF Spring Board Meeting. If you have specific topics or concerns that you would like me to discuss with the Board, please send me the topics, with details, via email.

I would also like to extend a warm welcome to Mia Johnson who has volunteered to work with the web site to expand the information contained on the site. Mia may be contacting you or your GMO for photographs, clinic information and schooling show schedules. We want the Region 2 web site to be the "go to" location when you need information about the Region.

Keep warm, keep learning and keep riding.

regards,

Ken Levy
