New Dressage Association

The 1st NEWDA recognized Virtual Show was held in Spring (April 29-May 8) in partnership with North American Western Dressage (NAWD). It offered USDF/USEF Traditional Dressage (TD), USEF Western Dressage (WD), NAWD Pre-Intro Lead Line Dressage, NAWD Trail Dressage, and NAWD Six Feet on the Ground Dressage.

  • 19 participants (99% new to virtual shows);
  • TD/WD classes were judged by an 'L' graduate;
  • NAWD classes were judged by a NAWD accredited judge.
  • Participants rated their show experience as '5'.

The 2nd NEWDA recognized Virtual Show was held in the Fall (September 16-25) in partnership with NAWD; offered the same classes except the higher levels of USDF/USEF Traditional Dressage were omitted due to no judge higher than 'L' graduate was available.

  • 21 participants (95% new to virtual shows).
  • TD/WD classes were judged by an 'L' graduate (higher levels of TD omitted).
  • NAWD classes were judged by a NAWD accredited judge.
  • Participants rated their show experience as '5'.

2016 Fall Virtual Show Feedback

As you can see from show participant feedback, virtual shows offer a worthwhile option to newbies and seasoned riders. It introduces dressage to folks who never shown before, builds handler/rider/horse confidence and fosters a supportive venue to encourage participation at live schooling and recognized shows.

North American Western Dressage (NAWD) developed this venue and have been successfully offering virtual shows for the past 5 years. A live regional championship was held Sept 10 at Sorensen Equestrian Park LLC in East Troy. This show offered TD, WD, Trail, Six Feet on the Ground classes.
